First tournament of the season

The first tournament of the season is finally in the books. It is part of the Golden State Tour established in 1982, and it is the longest running development golf tour in the US. The event took place at Monarch Dunes in Nipomo California. It is a beautiful course that is surrounded by windswept dunes, eucalyptus trees, coastal vistas and amber-colored hillsides. It is reminiscent of the true links-style courses found in Scotland. The course was in immaculate shape with fast greens and many demanding holes. I shot scores of 78-75-71 and finished tied for 31st . When the tournament was over, I had the opportunity to discover a beautiful place called Avila Beach. This small village is a great place to visit to enjoy scenic views, and well worth the detour. A fun fact, is that it has a micro climate and according to a researcher of meteorology at Santa Barbara, the worlds best weather.

My next tournament will be at Oak Valley in Beaumont, California and the goal will be a top ten performance!!!
